GameStop/EB Games has had Super Mario Galaxy demos for a long time. The thing is, Walmart hasn’t had a damn thing. I have actually be checking in at Walmart to see if they are getting anything for promotion.

Now reader bjdabomb24 informs me that Galaxy is indeed at Walmart to demo. There are quite a few people that don’t have GameStop stores around them, so the good news is they can head out to a local Walmart and check it out.

UK iPhone Launching with 1.1.2 Firmware, Jailbreak Broken

T3 got their hands on the new European iPhone, and to their delight (and dismay), the phone is pre-installed with firmware 1.1.2—which is newer than the 1.1.1 firmware we currently have in the states. Believe it or not, it's actually packing some new features. But before you ask, their early testing shows that current Jailbreak software is no longer functional. So that whole saga continues!

The biggest standard consumer-oriented change is probably that the phone supports 12 languages out of the box, along with special keyboards for French and German languages (we guess that the other languages see a more limited level of support).

There's also bundled free access to The Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots, which we've already seen in the European iPod Touch.

And like we said, no more iPhone hacking for a little while.

Blog elements can be called the foundations of every single blog. If you're trying to make money with your blog, you first have to build strong foundations for it.
Try to see it as your own financial fortress - do you build a house from the roof or from the bottom? It's the same with blogging.... When you set your blog elements right, you should have no or very little problems with making money with your blog.

Here's a quick list of blog elements which every blog should have:

1. ABOUT PAGE - Readers usually like to know who is behind the posts. Write about yourself and your interests and tell them why are your post the ones they should read. Also, it's highly recommended that you put your picture on your about page - readers also like to see who is behind the posts - chose a picture with a smile on your face ;) - You can expect my picture soon :)

2. CONTACT PAGE - Just remember how many times you contacted someone with your questions and queries. As a blogger, you have to make time for your readers. Having a contact page makes it easier for your readers to get in touch with you.

3. SUBSCRIBE BUTTON - Allow your readers to grab your site's feed. Place the button on the top of your page so it's easy accessible. You can also encourage your readers to subscribe to your feed at the beginning or the end of each post (or in the post ;) - subscribe to MMWK)

4. CATEGORIES (LABELS) - Makes the blogging experience on your blog a whole lot easier and comfortable. Categories make it easier for readers to browse through your blog.

5. SEARCH BOX - Always have a search box on your blog. When a reader wants to find something on your blog, the search box takes him there in no time.

After the top 5, I'd like to point out one more blog element important for making money online:

ADVERTISE - If you think your blog is ready for direct advertising, then you should have an "advertise on this blog" page. Remember to focus on the advertiser directly - after all, you are writing the page for him, not for your readers ;) If a potential advertiser visits your blog, you have to be ready for him. Describe why should he advertise on your blog, try to tell the advertiser what benefits will he have by advertising on your blog.

bloggers not happy with nuffgang

The decision by Singapore based blog advertising network Nuffnang to charge a S$1 (69c) administration fee on payments is causing a bit of ruckus amongst South East Asian bloggers.

Nuffnang was founded in April to offer local advertising solutions to bloggers in Singapore and Malaysia. On the face of it, the company is not dissimilar to Federated Media, offering CPM and direct sale graphical advertising, yet on the other hand it promotes itself a bit like Pay Per Post, complete with blog meetups and sponsored parties. Current sponsorship partners include Nike, Citibank and Clearasil. It’s main local competition is a company called Adverlets, that caters to the same distinct market.

The S$1 administration fee my seem insignificant, but local bloggers are unhappy due to the way it was imposed: with no announcement and only discovered when they went to make withdrawals from their Nuffnang accounts (unlike Adsense bloggers can withdraw money from Nuffnang on request). A number of a prominent local bloggers have said that if they knew there was going to be a fee to withdraw money they may not run Nuffnangs code, and would have used Adverlets exclusively (who don’t charge the fee). There’s even a blog dedicated to why Nuffnang will fail.

Singapore and Malaysia may not be large markets in a global blog advertising sense, but the tale is of note when considering how even small things can cause a lot of damage in the new media age. All the money Nuffnang has spent on PR has meant nothing in the face of bloggers angry over a small administrative charge.

NEW DELHI: Actor Sanjay Dutt, sentenced to six years imprisonment in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, will have to spend his Diwali in Pune's Yerrawada jail as the Supreme Court on Friday fixed November 20 to hear his regular bail plea.

Issuing notice to the CBI on his bail application, a Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishan said Dutt's plea could only be entertained after the Diwali vacation.

Senior advocate V R Manohar, who mentioned Dutt's bail application, said the actor was only convicted under the Arms Act and during the 14 years of trial he spent one-fourth part of his six years sentence in the jail.

Dutt had remained in jail for 18 months during the trial of the case before he was granted bail by the apex court.

The actor was convicted on November 28, 2006 and quantum of punishment was pronounced on July 31, 2007, following which he was taken into custody.

However, he was granted interim bail on August 20, on the condition that on getting the copy of the judgement relating to his conviction he will surrender before the TADA court.

Dutt, who was supplied with the copy of the voluminous judgement on October 22, complied with the bail condition and was taken to Yerrawada jail in Pune.

Meanwhile, Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium told the Bench that CBI had prepared three CDs of the judgement and a copy of it for placing it before the court.

During the last hearing, the court had asked whether the voluminous judgement could be placed in abridged form.

In his petition, the actor assured that he was willing to abide by any condition which the apex court might impose for granting him bail.

The actor said that after being initially granted bail in 1996 by the trial judge he had travelled abroad over 50 times, but had never breached the bail conditions imposed upon him.

Dutt maintained that though he has been sentenced to six years imprisonment by the designated TADA judge P D Kode under the Arms Act, he still hoped that the apex court would release him on probation by setting aside the order of the conviction.

He has submitted that the TADA judge as per the law did not obtain a report from the probation officer before rejecting his plea for release on probation.

However, since the appeal filed by him on August 7 would take a considerably long time as the judgement of the TADA court was spread over 10,000 pages, Dutt said he should be released on bail to avoid his further incarceration.

The TADA court has held him guilty of possessing an AK 56 rifle and a pistol under the Arms Act but acquitted him of charges under the TADA.
